Net Set GO

Woolworths NetSetGO is a fun and safe introduction to netball and is the best way for girls and boys aged 5 to 10 to have fun with their friends, keep active and learn the basic skills of netball in a safe and social environment.

Net Set Go incorporates activities and minor games that are focused on player motor skills and the emphasis of the program is on participation, developing skills and having FUN in a SAFE environment. This will ensure that all participants are receiving the best possible introduction to the necessary motor skills required to play netball.

The program is divided up into three tiers: Net, Set and GO.
Where you begin depends on your age and netball experience,
but there's no skill level required to get started.

ANA Program

Net And Set Tiers of the Net Set Go program are run on a Monday night from
4pm – 5pm at Albany leisure and Aquatic Centre.

Go Tier match play is conducted on a Friday night from 5pm – 6pm. Athletes join one of the ANA clubs to participate in this match play.

Net

  • The Net tier is a play based movement skills program over 8 – 10 weekly sessions that last between 45 – 60 minutes. Children join as individuals, not as a team and the emphasis is on the acquisition of basic movement skills in a fun environment.

  • The key skills developed in the Net tier of NetSetGO are:

    • Running

    • Balancing

    • Passing

    • Catching

    • Jumping

  • Monday nights from 4pm – 5pm at Albany leisure and Aquatic Centre.

Set

  • The Set tier builds on the fundamental movement skills in Net, and introduces netball skills and basic netball strategy. Set introduces modified matches (rules and equipment) over 8 – 10 weeks, with one session per week.

  • The key skills developed in the Set tier of NetSetGO are:

    • Passing

    • Pivoting

    • Shooting

    • Defending

    • Dodging

    • Intercepting

    • Leading

  • Monday nights from 4pm – 5pm at Albany leisure and Aquatic Centre.

Go

  • The GO tier introduces participants to more netball-specific skills and refines their fundamental movement skills. They continue to take part in modified matches with the rules adapted to allow a smooth transition into junior netball (adult rules).

  • The key skills developed in the Go tier of NetSetGO are:

    • Defence of shot

    • Rebounding

    • Two leads

    • Double dodge

    • One hand control

    • Goal circle positioning

  • Friday nights from 5pm – 6pm. Athletes join one of the ANA clubs to participate in this match play.
